About the Event
Basic Hand Broom Making Class
Join experienced broom maker Becka Viets of Hexagon Textile & Broom for a fun and hands-on class in the basics of hand broom making. Students will learn foundational broom-making skills while creating their own turkey wing broom and hawk wing hand broom. The class will also cover broom anatomy, lore, history, and include a live demo along with guided hands-on instruction.
All supplies needed to make two brooms are included. This class is recommended for ages 18+ and will last approximately 2.5 hours.
Please note: participants should be comfortable with grasping, holding, turning/rotating, and maintaining tension between a stick under the feet and a broom in the hands.
